Weights and formula are on the methodology page. Nothing in it is editorial; nobody at a desk decides who is hot.

The back of each tile is the artist's most graded illustration, pooled across every tracked print. Submissions cost real money, so the card collectors slab the most is the honest answer to "which card made this artist's name", even when a rarer card is worth more.

Because most Pokemon card illustrators are private freelance artists in Japan who never publish a photo, and this site refuses to fake one. Where a real, source verified photo exists, the tile shows it and flips to the artist's most graded card. Where none exists, the card itself is the face, and the tile flips to a card back, the way the real object would. No AI faces, ever.
