AKAGI
Collectors have graded 67,339 copies of akagi's 17 tracked cards. The catalog gems at 48 percent, a high rate that usually reflects modern print quality more than easy grading. Submissions are running hot right now: 1,641 new gradings in the last 30 days.
Hype meter
recomputed every refresh, moves with each new set1,641 fresh slabs in 30 days is doing most of the lifting here. Submission volume is weighted hardest because it costs money, and this catalog is drawing plenty of it. Nobody on the swept forums said the name in the last two weeks. The meter treats that silence honestly, so the reading rests on the market components alone. For a catalog that only started in 2023, sitting at #87 of 254 is the part worth watching.

THE ARTIST
akagi, full name Shunsuke Akagi, is a working TCG mercenary in the best sense: Duel Masters, Magic: The Gathering, the One Piece card game, TEPPEN, and since a shiny Palafin in Paldean Fates, Pokemon. The Greninja ex special illustration rare from Twilight Masquerade, all jewel tones and aggressive foreshortening, became one of the era's defining chase cards and put the name on every collector's radar.
Twenty seven cards in, akagi is the up and comer whose other card game work means the polish arrived fully formed.
