Hype meter
recomputed every refresh, moves with each new setThe grading queue is quiet, with 33 new slabs in a month, and the meter says so. Nobody on the swept forums said the name in the last two weeks. The meter treats that silence honestly, so the reading rests on the market components alone. For a catalog that only started in 2023, sitting at #241 of 254 is the part worth watching.

THE ARTIST
Amelicart might be the most credentialed rookie the card game has ever had. Raised in Nagasaki, trained at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, a former CyberAgent designer, and now a guest professor at Kyoto University of the Arts, he won the Slowpoke Award in the official Illustration Grand Prix and joined the game in Crown Zenith with a Bibarel and a run of item cards including Ultra Ball.
His signature lineless style, no outlines and clean warm shapes, was already famous from client work for Supercell, Niantic, Square Enix, and the Hobonichi MOTHER Project before a single Pokemon card existed. The Squawkabilly ex special illustration rare from Paldea Evolved is the early chase card, and he runs Amelab, a community for working illustrators, on the side.
