30th Celebration Mini Tin Prices: All Ten Fell

"Six mini tins carried a mark on both of those dates, and every single one of them lost ground over the window". Card Talk ran that on August 31, and we re-pulled it on September 14. Ten tins carry a mark now, all ten have fallen again, and the display box holding one of each rose 13.7% over the same fortnight. The display box and the ten tins inside it cannot both be priced right, and the tins are the side of that gap that moves.

The three calls already on the board

None of the three open calls has reached its review date. This column never grades a call before its horizon. The interim reads still belong in public, and one of them has moved our way since last week.

Call 1 rests on three Journey Together products and is due on September 30. Why the Journey Together booster box fell through August left that box at $249.74 on August 28, and it marks $241.29 today. The elite trainer box has gone from $137.61 to $139.67 over the same stretch. The bundle was the leg under strain a week ago, and it now reads $46.57 against the $46.00 it started from.

That is all three legs tracking the call for the first time since we made it. Our running index of sealed product marks carries the box at $241.29 and the bundle at $46.57 on every rebuild of this page. Two weeks of readings are left to decide it.

Call 2 is still the one running against us, and we would rather keep writing that than wait for October. We said on August 31 that the 30th Celebration Ultra Premium Collection [Day] would mark below $599.04 on October 15. It reads $603.80 today, which is $4.76 the wrong side of the line. That is the closest it has come since it peaked at $621.78 on September 2.

Every reading since that peak has been lower than the one before it, from $614.91 on September 7 down to $610.29 on September 10. The line is still above us with a month to run. Call 3 asks for fewer than 30% of the Mega Evolution era rows on our board to be up on the week.

The September reading that put Mega Evolution at the bottom of our board had it at 18.5% up, against 42.2% for everything else. It reads 10.3% today across 194 rows, with the rest of the board down to 26.8%. Call 3 is due on October 20 and is tracking well inside its line.

30th Celebration mini tin prices, ten of ten down

Our snapshots carried 32 of these products on both August 8 and August 31, and 28 of them fell. The same 32 split 19 down and 13 up between August 31 and September 14. A board that fell as one block through August has stopped falling as one block, and the split inside it is not where anyone would look.

The split is not between cheap and dear, and it is not between cards and sealed. Ten 30th Celebration mini tins carry a mark today, and all ten of them sit lower than they did on August 31. The shallowest fall is 3.8% on the Night Pikachu tin and the deepest is 26.1% on the Umbreon tin. Their average mark has gone from $68.49 to $59.52 in a fortnight.

The display box that holds one of each tin went the other way, from $279.01 to $317.28. That is a rise of 13.7% over a fortnight in which every one of the ten units inside the box lost ground, seven of them by more than 10%. Nothing separates the two on timing, because TCGplayer dates the display and all ten tins to the same October 2 shipment.

Every product in this group is still a preorder. All 202 of them are unreleased, and the catalog feed dates 170 to September 16 and 15 to October 2, which puts the whole mini tin line in the second batch. No collector has opened one, so none of these marks is describing a card anybody has seen.

What the display charges for the same tin

TCGplayer's own product entry says each display contains 10 mini tins, one of each design. Each tin holds 2 booster packs, a sticker sheet, an art card and a code card. So the display, marked $317.28 on September 14 of 2026, is buying the same tin for $31.73.

Buying the tins one at a time costs $59.52 on the same day, which is $27.79 more per tin than the display charges. Ten of them bought singly come to $595.23 against $317.28 for the box. The gap on August 31 was $40.59 per tin, so it has narrowed by 31.5% over the fortnight while the direction of both legs stayed where it was.

One of those figures is describing what the cardboard is worth and the other one isn't. The cheapest live listing on the display was $350.00 on September 14, above its own $317.28 aggregate mark, so the box cannot be bought at its own number today. Sellers have probably been repricing the tins toward the wholesale unit rather than the other way round.

That is a cause, and it is hedged for that reason. The daily board of price moves behind this column counts listings and not motives. The August piece on the same set's preorder marks hedged the same way, because nothing since has given us a better cause than that one.

Call 4, and the number that breaks it

Every Market Read leaves one dated call behind it. Call 4, made on September 14 of 2026, is that the average mark across the ten 30th Celebration mini tins is below $52.00 when we re-pull on October 26. It stands at $59.52 today, so the tins have to keep giving up ground at roughly their current pace. A mark of $52.00 or higher on that date makes the call wrong, and this column will print it wrong.

October 26 falls three and a half weeks after the tins are due to ship. If fewer than eight of the ten carry an aggregate mark that day, we record the call unverifiable rather than force a verdict. The weakness is plain, and it is that a release week can lift a preorder mark as easily as bleed it.

None of this is advice about what to buy, and the page that sets out what a price mark on this site actually measures carries the limits on it. A restock decision or an allocation email never reaches a price feed, and either one could break call 4 inside a day.
