Moonbreon PSA 10 Population and the Correction Talk

Published . Every population and price figure below re-renders from our own data on each rebuild, so they stay current. Pop data last pulled 2026-09-12.

Umbreon ex 161, Umbreon VMAX 215 and Giratina V 186 standing on one axis, each with a bar hanging below it for its PSA 10 population

"Moonbreon price finally starting to correct", posted to the investing sub on September fifteenth. Our sweep caught ten threads on that card across the two subs in the fortnight behind it. Eight named the card in the title.

The Moonbreon PSA 10 population is the largest of any card we price above two thousand dollars, and nobody in those ten threads mentioned it. We upvoted a fair few of them ourselves.

Ten threads, and one that counted

The correction thread laid its evidence out in a single line. "I am seeing downward price movement on the moonbreon over the last 2 weeks", it read. Then: "This card has historically been a very stable card".

A thread on September tenth called the card dethroned as the dearest Sword and Shield card. Another on September sixth worried that the anniversary set would pull "a lot of attention" onto Umbreon.

One poster did arithmetic instead. On September eighth a thread set Giratina V 186 against Moonbreon, citing gem rates near forty and near seventy.

Both check. Our board holds 9,728 tens under Giratina V 186 out of 24,019 copies sent in. Moonbreon comes home a ten near seven times in ten.

What thirty tens cleared in September

PriceCharting carried thirty completed PSA 10 sales between September third and September fourteenth. Thirty. On one card, inside twelve days.

The first seven ran a median near four thousand three hundred dollars. The last twenty three ran a median near three thousand nine hundred, and twelve of those cleared under four thousand.

So the direction the thread describes is real, and it is not a large move. The same page put a PSA 10 near four thousand dollars on September fifteenth, with a graded nine near half that.

The Moonbreon PSA 10 population, last

Our board counts 21,615 PSA 10 copies of Umbreon VMAX 215. They came back out of 31,212 copies sent in.

Not scarcity. Nothing else on our board with a PSA 10 over two thousand dollars carries more tens.

The count has not stopped growing either. Our board logged near three hundred and fifty further copies sent in across the thirty days to September.

We rank the whole field by measured activity on the tracker that scores cards on how hard they are being submitted and traded. Moonbreon sits nowhere near the top of it.

The newer Umbreon costs more and is genuinely rarer in a ten. Umbreon ex 161 out of Prismatic Evolutions holds 6,434 tens against 21,749 submissions.

Under a third of Moonbreon's count. That card came out of a set we found still entering the retail catalogue twenty months after release.

Thirty tens changing hands in twelve days is a market rather than a squeeze. We read the same census gap under a Mega Gengar ex 284 two weeks ago.

The trader who says the count is beside the point

The Giratina poster answered all of this a week before we wrote it. Moonbreon "is the face of Sword and Shield", that post read, "and Umbreon is way more popular".

Nothing here is financial advice. Graded cards are speculative and illiquid, projections are labelled as projections, and this column grades its own past calls in public.
